"Oh da baby!"

Kevin and I picked up Borat on DVD a few days ago and I finished knitting the button band/collar on the Blue Sky Alpaca Top Down Cardi while watching (it was a good distraction from getting a "full view" of the... uhm... wrestling scene).

What I Love about the Cardi...
1. It fits perfectly through the body.
2. No seaming
What Needs Improvement for next time...
1. Shorter depth in the raglans
2. More planning for the collar

I really loved making this sweater. I can't wait to find some buttons so that I can actually wear it. I also can't wait to make another one!

Did you all watch "The Riches" last night? It was so good that I actually couldn't knit. My knitting sat in my lap untouched throughout the show. I love Eddie!!

It looks lovely. Great job on the cardigan.

jody:

it's a great first top-down raglan! i think you have to knit one of each style that needs a little work before you get it just right (at least, i know i do).

a couple suggestions for getting that raglan to a better length (i've been writing a post on raglan shaping so it's on my mind)

i agree that it looks like the raglans might need to be shortened a bit. once you do that, have you considered some short row shaping in the top part of the sleeve? the length of the sleeve along the center top of it looks good, so if you shorten the raglan it might get a little tight.

also, i've read that it's better the speed up the increases on the latter half of a raglan. meaning, keep them every-other row for the first half of the raglan and then make them faster (maybe every 2 out of 3 rows?) on the second half.

just a couple thoughts. but i still think that's a very wearable and very comfy-looking top-down cardi.

It looks great! I love the borders you did.

And I *loved* The Riches! Eddie Izzard was so freakin' awesome. And Minnie Driver! SO GOOD.

I like the cardigan. It looks very comfortable, and I love the idea of a) no seaming, and b) custom fitting. I have to clear out some UFOs... I really want to start a top down sweater for me!
