Blogging to Stay Awake

I don't know what it is about today, but I am more tired than usual. I'm tired most days, but I nearly put myself to sleep this morning with my lectures. And I've got another lecture in about 30 minutes. I drank some Coke and ate some lunch, but still so sleepy. I'm tempted to find a Red Bull somewhere, but worried that will make me much to hyper for class. In the past drinking Red Bull, or once eating a lot of candy, before class, puts me on overdrive and I talk faster than the students can probably comprehend.

I have been knitting, but have failed in taking pictures of it. I have completed one of the Little Gems Mitts from the '07 Interweave Knits Holiday. Here's the pattern pic (borrowed from Interweave's website)

I used stash yarn (yay!). The base color is leftover from my "Son of a Stitch and Bitch" project (Dale Baby Ull in Dark Gray) and rainbow colors are leftover from when I made the Pippi Kneestockings (Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport) soooo long ago. The weights of the two yarns are a bit different, but it seems to be knitting up fine on the size 1.5mm needles I'm using. I changed the pattern a bit to fit my hand better, and finally realized that instead of making notes on little scraps of paper about my changes, I should just write it directly in the magazine on the pattern. If I ever make the pattern again, I'll want to know those notes. It is silly, but it seemed like a revelation to me.

Ok, I should head over to class, hopefully I won't fall asleep in the middle of my own lecture!
