...that I needed my knitting for making me feel better, it is right now. But I'm at work and my knitting is at home. I feel so sick to my stomach over this situation (quick and ambiguous version... I ruin students' lives by catching what they did wrong). I know I shouldn't feel bad about it, but it is hard to keep emotions under such tight control. Why didn't I throw my knitting in my bag? ARGH! Maybe looking at knitting for the next hour and half before class will help a little...

I understand. I frequently wish I had my knitting with me - but it would be looked at very negatively in my environment, so I leave it at home, and instead look at Ravelry or read blogs. Hope it did the trick for you. And try to remember that in the long term, you're acting in the student's best interest, even if it may not seem like it now.
