Retreat!

No, don't run away! Actually last Tuesday-Wednesday, I had to attend the mandatory new faculty retreat for my school. Everyone had very low expectations of what the retreat would be like, and I think we were all very pleasantly surprised that it was a lot of fun and very nice. I learned that another new faculty member is a knitter (yay!) and I hopefully got her hooked on Ravelry! We ate some great food and had a bit too much wine, which lead to a lot of laughing and joking. And the accommodations were unbelievable! We stayed in a hotel under the Hilton umbrella (but not actually a Hilton). And dork that I am, I took pictures of the room because I've never stayed in a super nice king-size hotel room by myself.

This was the view when I walked into the room. Huge bed! Huge flat screen TV!

That desk chair in the near left corner was really comfortable. I sat there and chatted with Kevin on the phone.

Bathroom, obviously.

You can't really tell, but I'm wearing my Ravelry "Daily Dose of Fiber" t-shirt. Also, the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were all Neutragena! (which all made their way into my bag and home with me!).

On the knitting front, I'm lacking some motivation in what to work on now that the Kauni Clappy is finished. I started a sock and I certainly have a lot of Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz projects on Ravelry, but I'm not feeling super inspired at the moment. Here's my sock of the moment**...

**Speaking of "of the moment," the restaurant at the hotel didn't have a soup of the day, it had a soup of the moment, which we took to mean that the soup could change at any second, so you'd better order quick!

I'm glad the retreat went so well! *And* you found another knitter! :-)
