I've become one of those professors who gets crud on their students' papers.
**I've been slowly plugging away on Paron at a pace of about 6 rows a night. At this rate it might be finished in time for the Fall. Ugh!! So busy and so tired; if I ever have the energy to find my camera, I'll show you a picture of Paron. I can't wait until May 15th!**
Last night I dreamt that the Yarn Harlot came to my house! She brought her spinning wheel and was showing me how it works. We talked knitting and yarn, and spent a lot of time just sitting on my couch knitting together. Then when Kevin got home from work, he made us dinner. For a fairly mundane dream (no big action or emotions), it was pretty exciting!
Last night at knitting, I noticed another error in the Berroco pattern for Paron. I confirmed with Kathy and Cordelia that I wasn't just reading it wrong. I emailed Berroco and got a response of "oh, thanks for mentioning it." They really don't seem too happy when you tell them there are errors in their patterns. I suspect the problems with this particular pattern are because someone knit it and wrote the pattern as an after-thought and it was never test knit before publishing. Both errors (in yardage and in the pattern) are ones that a test knitter would not miss. These weren't small typos.
Here's my favorite part.
Look at those corners!!
Artsy shot!
After some hassles with delivery, I finally got the yarn to make this.
Oh, and here's a pair of socks that have been slowly taking shape...
I hope to get Paron finished this weekend in between lots of work work work. I really hate the end of the semester. I need to make my students take all of their exams and write their papers at the beginning of the semester, so we can just watch movies at the end.
I have to proctor two finals on a Saturday. Back-to-back. Starting at 8:30am.
It could be worse... I could be taking two finals...
Although the pain of grading 57 multiple choice and essay exams in less than 48 hours is probably punishment enough.
I wouldn't win any points from Tyra with my bad posing...
Maybe if Nigel was taking the pictures...
Or if Mr. Jay had been there for encouragement...
But none of that matters because I love the sweater and love how it turned out and loved wearing it today. So despite the errors in the pattern, I think it turned out cute and was an easy, mindless knit. Of course, the question is now, what to knit next...
Must stop watching reruns of America's Next Top Model.
Updated: Thanks for the suggestions. I've got my RAs checking into them. Additional suggestions are always appreciated!!
Does anyone have any suggestions about where I could post a link to my current research study so that I could get male participants?
I haven't linked it yet on Ravelry because I know that will flood it with female participants, and what I need is men!!
My RAs and I are running out of ideas. Please, world of the internet, help me figure out where men spend there time online and where I can post a link to my survey!!
Three more class days and then maybe I can pay more attention to my poor neglected blog. (Ok, well maybe not until after finals... but then definitely, we'll have more quality time!)
