"Today is mah birfday. I haz cake."
How old do you think someone who "talks" like this is? 4? 8? 12 with braces and a lisp?
Best I can tell from the fact she's been knitting over 30 years is that she's probably in her 40s if not older. Why would you write like a child? Isn't it bad enough that young people today can't write in anything but text-speak, but now adults on the internet have to talk like morons?
Don't mean to sound curmudgeon, and I know the internet doesn't necessarily breed intelligence, but can we at least try????

Curmudgeon!
Okay, I'll stop teasing.
Am I correct that she's using LOLCats style? because that seems to be as popular, in an ironic aren't-I-hip way, as using "teh". (Which is discussed also on Ravelry -- but I only got far enough into the thread to see it dismissed as an insult.) The only way this *might* make it better is that she would probably use correct English in a professional situation -- unlike the young adults I am most likely to encounter. :-)

I agree - down with poor communication!
I have a sad suspicion that in ten years, English written on the internet will have deteriorated to such a degree that I won't be able to understand a thing.
Personally, I put people who write like that in the same category as those rude drivers who pass me too close on the road: AVOID! I may be living in a cabin in the woods before too long though!

Depending on where it is on Ravelry, it might be appropriate. On the lolCats group, for instance....

Does it make me curmudgeonly to say that I wish lol cats would go away already?
