I knit these happy little guys for my mom. She saw an ad for them in a magazine and commented about how cute they were. I found the pattern (
here) and ordered the yarn. They were fiddly to knit and more fiddly to sew up. The first one had to have a full face transplant and a beak-job before he looked normal. I put a couple of glass beads in the bottom of each to give them a bit more stability, but otherwise followed the pattern as written. One skein of each color of yarn (Louet's Mohair) is enough to make at least 5 chicks (whether I get around to making two more is up in the air). Each chick was completed in about 4-5 hours.
Upcoming bloggy topics because I promise to get back in the habit of blogging on a regular basis...
- A haircut (tomorrow)
- Mets bibs for a friend
- Baby Trekkings for a friend
- Shibui socks for me
- A trip to San Francisco
- Unplugged and Unwigged concert
- Wii Active!
The chicks are adorable! I especially love the one with cobalt blue eyes.
