Argh!!!!!!!!

I finally got my size 9 needles and cast on the other day for the body portion of Ginevra. Knit, knit, knit... and whamo!!!

Oh wow...

I wanted to start on Ginevra, but of all the needles I own, I apparently don't own any size 9 circulars. Argh!! So I ordered some, but in the meantime, I can start the lace-weight insert part because that's just like a scarf.

I've gotten about 4 inches and I'm in heaven. Malabrigo is the softest yarn I've ever touched. Like cashmere soft. Like I'm not going to be able to finish this sweater because I keep petting my small square of knitting instead of knitting soft.

I've updated to the latest version of MovableType (which only took me 2 hours to do..... ugh!!!). And I think that I got the comments back in working order. Please email me if you run into any problems (linky to the left!)

Malabrigo for my Birthday

My wonderful husband bought me Malabrigo for my birthday!!

Isn't it gorgeous?! It is soft and beautiful and the best gift ever!

The Malabrigo Twist and Lace in Burgundy are destined to become Ginevra's Pullover from the new Interweave Knits. I am completely in love with this sweater and can't wait for the semester to end so that I can start on this beauty.

And this Malabrigo Rasta was just thrown in because it was too pretty to say no to. And because it is the yarn that made this...

(I played with the image on ColorSplash... what a fun App!)

Yak Scarf

I finished the Elegant Scalloped Scarf in Beauty and the Beast from Still River Mill that I purchased at Rhinebeck.

This was a super quick knit and the pattern was easy to memorize.

My only problem was that the pattern said that the yarn was 200 yds, but the yarn was actually only 150 yds. Thus the scarf is quite small. It is long enough to wear tucked slightly into my jacket, but it is still a very small scarf.

What I really love about it is that it is super warm and soft. Yak and alpaca, yum!!!
