Project Description: Fetching

fetch1.JPG

Pattern Source: Fetching from Knitty

Yarn: Tahki Yarns New Tweed (70% merino, 15% silk, 11% cotton, and 4% viscose), size 6 circulars

Notes: I made a little modification to the finished product by sewing a little bit of yarn between my index finger and middle finger. This really helps to keep the top of the mitt at the base of my fingers.

Project Description: Calorimetry 2

calorimetry5.JPG

Pattern Source: Calorimetry from Knitty

Yarn: Filatura di Crosa 127 Print, size 6 needles

Notes: Size 6 needles, only decreased for 12 rows, cast on 100 stitches (110 would be perfect for next time!)

Project Description: Republic Hat 2

republic3.JPG

Pattern Source: Created by Nik

Yarn: Dunno, size 6 needles

Notes: I cast on 113 stitches and then cast off 23 at the appropriate place. I should have knit for another inch because the hat is a little small, but not terrible.

Project Description: Alpaca Hat

alpsilk1.JPG

Pattern Source: This one is from the top down. Cast on 12, increase 1 stitch per every three stitches. Knit 1 round plain. Increase 1 stitch per every four stitches. Knit 1 round plain. Repeat increasing (and increasing the number of stitches between increases) until 104 stitches total. Knit around until seems big enough (about 5 inches from last increase round). K2, P2 for the brim for about 4-6 inches as per your preference.

Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca's Alpaca and Silk (two strands held together), size 6 needles (blue is Koigu to crochet edge, added to pompom, and duplicate stitched for decoration).

Notes: I originally bought 4 skeins of Alpaca/Silk. I made a hat for my dad and had enough left over for a hat for me.

Project Description: Toasty Toes Again

knittop6.JPG

Pattern Source: My own simple ribbed pattern.

Yarn: Toasy Toes of course!

Notes: I finished off these socks that were originally started in July. The second sock is still 8 stitches bigger than the first. Somewhere around the heel on the first sock I decreased 8 stitches, I don't know where or how. Both socks have 52 stitches for the ribbing and 26 stitches at the heel, but then the first sock is 44 stitches around the foot. Where'd the 8 stitches go?! So, one sock fits slightly better than the other, but at this point I don't care.

Araucania Nature Wool Chunky in Denim. I love this sweater! The zippers were a pain in the ass to install, but otherwise it is gorgeous! Thanks to all who voted on zipper color. The yarn is so beautiful and I plan to use other colors in other sweaters.

Pattern Source: From Hollywood Knits Style.

Pattern Source: Deco Ribbon and Fizz... all garter stitch with some lovely fringe on the end.

This cardi is so easy with very little finishing. It is warm, but not too warm. It can be dressed up or down.

Project Description: Socks

Pattern Source: Basically Jody taught me how to do the two circular method, and then I followed several different patterns just for how to complete a heel, etc.

Project Description: Bikini Top

Project Description: Poncho

Crocheted for class using cheapie acrylic yarn.

Pattern Source: Craft Yarn Council

I knit this using the recommended Lions Brand Homespun. I used the color Sunshine State. These are so soft and comfortable. I'm very happy with them despite the bit of oversizedness.

Pattern Source: No Sweat-Pants, Interweave Knits, Spring 2004

I knit this with Plymouth Encore DK in gray and blue. It was very frustrating to finish, but I managed (somehow!).
